The Sacred Life Giver
The Sacred Life Giver, or as the Alien Elders like to call it, the Slave Subjugation Device. This is where the alien cyborgs come to heal after they undergo cruel and painful bio-mechanical surgeries. The device emanates complex waves of photonic energy which penetrate deep into nearby organic tissue, speeding up cellular growth and repair and relieving muscle tension. The SSD also emits powerful psionic energies which soothe senses and reshape minds, helping the subject forget what they were before subjugation and what they are in fact -- the newly conquered race entering the alien society as little more than slaves. After the healing procedure, the alien cyborg is in top physical condition and is filled with a sense of bliss. The hapless creature is ready to give its life without question at the whim of its elders.
The Gehennae
The Gehennae are an alien attack unit that appears to have been born purely for their destructive capabilities. They are usually deployed in areas of high human population with limited avenues for escape, such as cruise ships and train stations. We've learned that the Gehennae are one of the newly subjugated members of the alien society. As such, they are treated as slaves with no rights of their own. As an adolescent Gehennam matures, it undergoes a cruel and painful bio-mechanical surgery wherein its forearm appendages are removed and replaced with powerful flame throwers which are fueled by a supply tank surgically attached to its backside. Through these operations, the Gehennae are turned into mobile firebombs. The range of their flame throwers is relatively small, however their destructive power is immense. The Gehennae are excellent in close combat and the best way to fight them is from distance. Some of our xenopsychologists believe that we may be able to take advantage of their slave status and convince them to revolt against their masters.

Welcome, Player, to the UFO2:Extraterrestrials main menu. After installing the game and launching it, this is the first screen you will see. From here you can take the usual actions of starting a new game, continuing your most recently saved game, loading a specific save, tweaking the game settings, replaying the intro video, viewing the credits, or exiting the game. The intro video starts by showing a massive alien mothership arriving in Earth's orbit from deep space via a wormhole. You watch as the alien fleet commander orders a wave of UFO fighter craft to launch an attack against an aircraft carrier sailing in the Indian Ocean. What happens next you will soon see...
Tales from the battlefield
It was always difficult to capture enemy UFOs--they only had a single entrance and it was always guarded by hordes of murderous aliens. No matter how clever the locking mechanism, we could always get through the door by inserting explosives into the gaps between the door and the fuselage. The problem was that the aliens would usually detect the presence of our demolition experts. They would then open the door and unleash death upon us, usually in the form of fiery explosives and man-seeking sentinels. Finally we were given reactive ion rockets for our portable rocket launchers. These babies were strong enough to punch through the UFO hull. With these weapons, taking alien vessels became child's play. We'd just crack open the hull wherever we chose and toss in a handful of grenades and wait for the inevitable alien screams. Once they died down our squad would enter our new "door" and mop up any remaining resistance. Everyone was happy--except for the eggheads. They whinged incessantly about the destruction to the alien tech. I guess you can't please everyone. Life was good for the CAF soldier. Until one day...we had just breached another UFO hull and sent in our death squad when we lost contact with our lookouts. The last thing we heard through the static was them talking about foam. But we did not have time to worry about because we had just been ambushed by the enemy. They were hitting us with their incendiary weapons and the interior of the vessel had been turned into a fiery hell. The heat forced us to retreat back to the hull breach where we discovered it had been sealed with a thick foamy substance. Even as we examined it, it hardened into a solid mass. The heat from the alien assault seemed to be curing the foam into an impenetrable wall. We were trapped inside the UFO and about to become the main guest at an impromptu alien barbecue! Luckily the foam on the exterior of the hull breach was not hardening as fast--it was not being subjected to the same intense heat. Our lookouts outside the UFO were able to blast a hole through the toughening foam and we escaped just in time!
The Ice Queen and Frost King
The Ice Queen and Frost King come from a frozen planet circling the edge of a binary star system. The average temperature of their home world is approximately -25 degrees Celsius. Only once every 10 years at the planet's perihelion does its average surface temperature rise to above freezing. The frozen monarchs are excellently adapted to freezing temperatures -- their metabolism performs most optimally at -17 degrees Celsius. Because temperatures above freezing are deadly to them, they are almost always encountered within their thermo-environmental suits. These suits allow them to survive in environments with ambient temperatures as high as 70 degrees Celsius. A small but powerful cryogenic unit is located near the base of the back of the suits. This unit powers both the environmental conditioners and the formiddable cryo weapons used by the Ice Queen and Frost King. Since most of the other aliens involved in the invasion require warmer ambient temperatures, the frozen monarchs remain in their thermal suits even within the alien bases. It is believed they plan to colonize the polar regions once the planet has been subjugated.
